Is Base44 free? What you can and can't do on the free plan

Yes, Base44 is free to start, with no time limit. As of September 2026 the Free plan includes Base44’s core features (AI building, a database, user login and analytics), up to 5 apps, 25 message credits a month with a cap of 5 a day, and 100 integration credits. You can build and publish a real app on it. What it doesn’t include is your own domain, code export, server-side logic and payments.

What the free plan includes#

From base44.com/pricing:

• All core features: “AI powered app building,” an integrated backend and database, a visual editor, authentication and user management, analytics, cloud storage and collaboration.
• Up to 5 apps.
• 25 message credits a month, used when the AI builds or changes something.
• 100 integration credits a month, used when your app sends email, uploads files or calls AI.
• Built-in integrations such as SendEmail and InvokeLLM.
• Publishing to a yourapp.base44.app address.

The 5-credit daily limit#

Free plan users “can use up to 5 credits a day, up to a total of 25 credits each month,” per Base44’s credits docs. Hit the daily limit and credit-using features pause until your balance resets the next day, as long as monthly credits remain.

What 25 credits buys, using Base44’s rough guide:

• The first build of an app: about 1 credit.
• A simple text or visual change: about 0.5.
• A small feature: about 1.
• A complex module, like new data tables with logic: about 2.

So a free month is roughly one app with a couple of dozen changes, or several small ones. Manual edits in the editor and previewing your app don’t use credits, which stretches it further.

What needs a paid plan#

Can a free Base44 app rank on Google?#

It can be indexed, but you’re working at a disadvantage. Base44’s docs say free URLs “can still be crawled by search engines, but they are not intended for long-term, production SEO,” and features like llms.txt and social previews are designed for custom domains. Getting more out of the free plan#

1. Plan the app before building. One clear first prompt costs about 1 credit.
2. Make visual tweaks by hand, since manual edits are free.
3. Group changes into one well-scoped message.
